This Way and That

This is one of the Bridgwater Circle series of paintings, taken at the corner of Binford Place and Chapel Street. The road swings by the library by the river Bridgwater, Somerset.
I was taken by the drain cover and how it was worn smooth in many areas by the passage of car tyres. It reminded me of a big flat fish, like a Ray, only salmon coloured. It looked like you could stroke it, especially with those chevrons, which go this way and that.
