Chains of See

This is one of the Bridgwater Circle series of paintings image captured behind the sea cadet hall by the docks, Bridgwater, Somerset. Working title ‘Sea chains’, a lovely primary yellow plastic with a circular hole was lying on a rusty chain with old yellow paint on it. Bright green weeds have found a home, and the flotsam and jetsam of plant life decorate the picture.
I enjoyed painting this vibrant image. The loving protective circle surrounds the chains, an image of restraint but an explosion of life – very appropriate as I am painting in isolation. To protect myself, the UK and our NHS from the Covid-19 virus.
