This is one of the Bridgwater Circle series of paintings image captured while walking around the statue in Kings Square. This is traditionally the centre of our remembrance here in Bridgwater, and at the foot of the statue where the poppy wreaths are laid is a poignant little painted poppy pebble nestled in a round hole. A simple but powerful object to remember 11/11. Veterans Day, 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the armistice ending World War One came into effect.
I created this small painting with a three-dimensional look. You want to reach out and take hold of the painted pebble, it looks so tangible.
