One of my Bridgwater Circle series from the Bolt & Fixings set, based on a photograph taken on the way home while out walking. Taken of a wire support holding up a tall wooden pole near Blake school, Elmwood Avenue in Bridgwater, Somerset. The blue widget near the ground held the wire tight to keep the pole up, its smooth round head was contrasting with the earth beautifully. I loved the colour combination and the texture of the bits of dried grass on the earth and the blue man-made wires. As I painted this image on the canvas, the depth of the interior darkness, a void, a transcendental space tied to the world surrounded by a busy earthy world of chaos with a multi path blue highway, many ways all leading to its calm mysterious centre emerged.
